Cedar & Mercy Records

Privacy Policy

Overview

Cedar & Mercy Records is an independent Christian record label and media company in the United States. We are a for-profit business, not a nonprofit, church, or charity. This policy explains how we handle information on cedarandmercy.com, including our music and artist pages, stories, prayer request form, newsletter signup, contact form, Cedar & Mercy Supply Co. shop, and Support the Mission payment page.

Our site is operated from and intended for the United States. It is not directed to children under 13.

Information We Collect

Newsletter signups

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, an optional first name, and a record of the consent sentence you agreed to and when you agreed to it. GoHighLevel, provided by HighLevel Inc., is our CRM and email provider.

Here is what we send: a welcome email when you sign up, and one email on the day each new song is out, with the song’s title and artist, a line about the song, and links to its page on our site and its video on YouTube. These emails go out through GoHighLevel, which receives your email address and first name to send them. Every one has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it, press Unsubscribe, and we stop. We also take you off our newsletter list in GoHighLevel.

Prayer requests

You may submit a prayer request without giving us your name or email address, and you may mark the request anonymous. We store the request text in our own database, and we pray over every request.

Our website sorts each request into a general theme, such as healing or grief, using a simple list of words on our own server. It also looks for words that suggest someone may be in danger. When it finds them, it shows crisis phone numbers right away, emails a person on our team, and keeps that request private. This is a simple word list, so it will miss some requests. We are not a crisis service, and no one watches the form around the clock. The form also turns away web links and abusive language, and a request with rough language is prayed for but never read aloud. Your request is never used to train AI.

When we start our weekly prayer video, we will update this page and the prayer form first. Until then, we share a request only if you tick the box that allows it.

We never publish a prayer request automatically, except as described above when you allow it.

We never send prayer request text to our email or marketing provider. If your request has words that suggest you may be in danger and you left an email address, we email you crisis phone numbers even if you did not ask. That email also goes through GoHighLevel, and it never contains your request. None of this adds you to our mailing list. We add you to our mailing list only if you separately checked the marketing consent box.

Health information

Prayer requests often include health information, like an illness or a struggle with addiction. We collect it only to read and pray for your request. If you allow it, we may pray for it by theme in Wednesday Night Prayer, or read it aloud without any name if you tick that box. We do not sell it. It is stored with Cloudflare, our host. We never send request text to GoHighLevel. You can ask to see or delete it through our contact page. If we say no, write to us again with the word Appeal.

Contact messages

Our contact form collects your name, email address, optional organization, selected category, and message. We use this information to reply. We store your name, email address, and category in our CRM. We send marketing emails only if you separately consent.

First-party measurement

We run our own first-party measurement without cookies. It records page views and actions such as music plays and clicks on streaming links. It also records the page, referring site or campaign tag, and a visitor code.

The visitor code is a one-way hash that changes every day and cannot be turned back into an IP address. We do not store IP addresses. We do not use advertising trackers. If we later add Google Analytics, we will update this policy and add a cookie notice before doing so.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also measures page visits and loading speed for us with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or other storage on your device and does not track people across sites.

Shopping and session information on your device

Your browser stores your shopping cart and the first page you visited during the current session in local or session storage on your device. This storage is not a cookie. It is not sent anywhere except as described in this policy.

Orders and payments

Stripe processes payments. We never see or store full card numbers. Printify and its print providers print and ship our merchandise. They receive the name, shipping address, email address, and phone number needed to deliver an order.

Forms, video, and outside sites

Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a visitor is human. Our site is hosted by Cloudflare.

Embedded YouTube video uses privacy-enhanced mode and loads only after you press play. Streaming links take you to the third party’s own site, where that party’s practices apply.

Why We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • send newsletters that you requested;
  • receive and pray for prayer requests, and include them in Wednesday Night Prayer when you allow it;
  • answer contact messages;
  • understand page views, music plays, and streaming-link clicks;
  • maintain a shopping cart and session context;
  • process payments and fulfill merchandise orders; and
  • protect forms from automated misuse.

Who We Share Information With

We share information only as described in this policy:

  • HighLevel Inc. provides GoHighLevel, our CRM and email service;
  • Cloudflare hosts our site and may provide Turnstile bot protection;
  • Stripe processes payments;
  • Printify and its print providers receive delivery information needed to fulfill orders;
  • YouTube provides privacy-enhanced embedded video after you choose to press play; and
  • the police, child protective services or emergency services, if a request makes us believe someone is in danger, or if the law requires it.

Streaming links open third-party sites. Those services handle information under their own policies.

We do not sell personal information. We do not send prayer request text to our email or marketing provider.

How Long We Keep Information

We delete the text of a prayer request 90 days after we pray for it in Wednesday Night Prayer, or 120 days after we receive it if it was never mentioned, or sooner if you ask. We keep newsletter records until you unsubscribe; after that we keep only your email address on a do-not-send list, so we never email you again by mistake. We also keep a list of which newsletter emails we sent to each subscriber, without the emails themselves, so no one gets the same email twice. We keep contact messages for one year. Our records of emails sent through GoHighLevel on your behalf are cleared from our own database after 30 days. We keep order records for as long as tax law requires.

Your Choices and Rights

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can use it at any time to stop future marketing emails.

Anyone may ask us to provide access to, correct, or delete their personal information through our contact page. You may also ask us to delete a prayer request. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Residents of some US states have additional privacy rights. We honor verified requests as required by applicable law. This site is operated from and intended for the United States, and we do not claim compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.

Children

Our site is intended for a general audience in the United States and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the site, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The date in the page information above shows when the policy was updated. We will update this policy and add a cookie notice before adding Google Analytics.
