What is Cedar & Mercy Records?
Cedar & Mercy Records is an independent Christian record label and media company. We release Christian country, roots rock and acoustic songs, each with the scripture and the story behind it. The label is home to more than one artist and is built to grow into other kinds of Christian music over time.
Why we make music
We believe a good song can sit with a person in a way a sermon sometimes cannot. It can keep a man company in a truck at two in the morning, or give a grieving family words they did not have. We make music for those moments, and we make it because we believe the gospel is good news for people on hard roads.
Our faith is Christian in the broad, historic sense. We are not tied to one denomination, and we hope believers from many traditions, and people who are not sure what they believe, find something true here.
How we choose what to release
The song comes first. We look for a real story, told plainly, with a melody you want to hear again. We would rather cut a line than keep a cliche, and we would rather hold a song back than release one we do not believe in. Quality matters more to us than how often we post.
When a song leans on scripture, we check the reference against the text before it is published, and we try to let the passage say what it says.
People and tools
People decide what Cedar & Mercy releases. A person sets the direction, reviews every lyric and makes the final call on every song. We also use modern creative tools, including AI, in parts of our writing and production, and some of our artists are studio projects rather than touring performers. Where that is the case, the artist page says so.
